If you are a fan of the classic novels of H G Wells and Jules Verne then chances are you are into steampunk. A mashup of Victoriana, steam technology, SF and fantasy, you will have as much fun collecting the items for the jewellery as in making and wearing it. As with all the titles in this series inside these covers are twenty projects. Some prior knowledge of basic jewellery making techniques like working with findings, using pliers etc are assumed although none of the projects is hard to make. Just one features crochet with wire, perhaps positioned last as it uses other skills. Each project covers two pages and features a whole page photo of the finished item in a suitable setting and on the other page a list of what you need, full instructions and a photo of the item on white, plus a detail. Choose from necklaces, bracelets, pendants, rings, charms and earrings resplendent with a mixture of antique charms, cogs, keys, chains and more think Victorian meets industrial. Most pieces would make up quite quickly and all are fun to make and likely to attract attention of the best sort when worn. An imaginative addition to any crafters library and one I look forward to dipping into often.
