This is a lovely book, I love the designs in it and there are 50 to do. It is good fun painting them, I've only tried two so far and I definitely need more practice! Each motif is categorised into difficulty levels.

The word count in Watercolour With Love is deliciously low and gloriously concise. Youll find brief instructions on the equipment needed, some pointers on techniques, but the soul of the book is in its stunning, easily recreatable watercolour wonders. Pick it up, bring a watercolour doughnut to life, put it down. All extremely beginner-friendly, and amazingly, no less elegant for being so.

Although the book centres on watercolour painting, the same techniques could be employed when using diluted edible paints to recreate beautiful designs on cakes and bakes. Author Lena teaches you how to paint 50 popular modern motifs, from flowers and fruits to birds and animals. Each motif is broken down into five easy steps so you can see the order in which its built up and the shapes from which its formed. Although the tutorials are entirely pictorial, Lena reveals her helpful hints and tips for each motif in a Good to Know segment alongside each one. Its a great format and would be ideal for visual learners.
