An Exploration of Cyanotype and Mixed Media by Jane Spink

Edelweiss Preorder
Book Description

Create 12 striking, nature-inspired cyanotype prints, each enhanced with a rich and exciting range of mixed-media techniques.

Contains a comprehensive, practical guide to all the inspiring techniques used - from the cyanotype itself, to adding gouache, using gold lino print ink and more - from popular artist and printmaker Jane Spink (@inkydogstudio).

In this gorgeous new book, Jane Spink, founder of the hugely successful Inky Dog Studio, shares her working process for creating her stunning nature-inspired cyanotype prints. Discover Jane’s initial sketches and inspirational photos, understand the fundamental process of making a cyanotype print, then explore myriad ways to elevate this simple yet stunning technique into gorgeous works of art.

  • Create 12 beautiful projects, all influenced by nature and ordered by the seasons.
  • Incorporate stunning additional media to enhance the cyanotype effect and add your artist's 'stamp' to the composition. Convert photographs into cyanotype prints, use dye and bleach, and add paint, colouring pencils, embroidery threads, gold lino-print ink and more to infuse the prints with your own unique memories and perspective, to create deeply personal artworks every time.
  • To get you started, Jane has collated some of her stunning photographs and outlines for you to download and use in your own compositions.
  • This book is a beautiful jumping off point for beginner artists upwards looking not only to incorporate cyanotype printing in their working practice, but discover experimental techniques to refine their prints with personality.

This is a highly visually, intuitive how-to book that will be a springboard for you to set out on, or advance further along, your own sunlight-printed journey.
